NAME: Fathom
HOMEWORLD: Cybertron
FUNCTION: Deep-sea scout/observation
ALTERNATE MODE: Alien Submarine (Energon Sharkticon)
HEIGHT: 40’
QUOTE: “Crush them with the ocean’s weight.”
STRENGTH: 9
INTELLIGENCE: 4
SPEED: 4
ENDURANCE: 9
COURAGE: 6
FIREPOWER: 5
SKILL: 5
BIO: Designed for undersea observations and engagements Fathom was a prime example of Decepticon wartime engineering. He was sent to a planet on the fringe on Cybertron’s star maps. It wasn’t important to the war quite yet, but the Decepticons wanted it studied for any potential resources it might have. There he stayed for centuries before losing contact with his Cybertron based correspondent. Undeterred he continued to gather what information he could, occasionally sinking vessels that got too close until one day he received a signal to “Come home.”
The war was over. It was over and he hadn’t engaged an Autobot since the beginning of the war before his scouting mission. The war was over and he had practically missed it.
In the modern day, 2119, this is something Fathom still has not quite come to terms with. All the weaponry and Decepticon dogma inside him going to waste. He transferred to Earth in an attempt to get some ‘familiar’ scenery. Now he patrols Earth’s oceans, exploring places the little humans can not reach. He keeps in contact with both human and Cybertronian scientists, relaying the information. But peace is not what he was designed for and he knows that eventually someone is going to make someone else just mad enough... And maybe, just maybe, he won’t have missed the war after all.
WEAPONS/ABILITIES: His chassis is made to withstand the massive pressures of the ocean. To help with this it was constructed with trifolded plating, giving him high resistance to most firearms. Built into his ‘cape’ in robot mode, or the prow of the ship in vehicle mode, are two large torpedo cannons that he can deploy for added firepower.
WEAKNESSES: Fathom was built to survive and endure, not to do quick engagements. He is quite slow both in the water and out. His size, while intimidating, provides some difficulties in dealing with smaller beings or buildings; he has found that he personally struggles the most with typing and prefers to upload any data he has collected through a direct uplink.
